Hills...Yes...Hills!!!!!!

This morning before the sun was up, before the roosters were crowing, we were out doing something totally different. My two running partners and I did our run thru a part of Edmond that had us encountering 4 different hills, or was that 5 hills. Needless to say, it was an effort but not in futility. According to Garmin we conquered these beasts in 13 minutes/mile and some change. I don't have the exact pace numbers with me. We did 4.68 miles in 1 hour 3 minutes and 56 secs.

The unusual thing is that here I sit 6 hours later almost at noon and my shins don't hurt....go figure.....This was definitely a change in our routine, but in the end it was enjoyable...or at least it was once they were all done.

I will update this post later with all the actual numbers. I'm glad we did it, I feel good, and I'm looking forward to our 15 miles on Saturday.

Total Distance: 4.68 miles
Total Time: 1:03:56
Pace: 13:40
Avg HR: 133
Max HR: 172

Randy a 15 miler on Saturday?!? Dannnngggg I thought you were "only" doing a HM next?

Awesome job with that run!! Hills are a tough!

Yes I did see a Dr about 5 weeks or so ago. When the crotchy pain was so bad that it made me walk with a gimp LOL. He said that I strained my crotcherlar area (Ok not those words exactly LOL) and to rest for at least 4 weeks and of course no HM. But I've been jacking around and not really resting like I'm supposed too soooooo here I am 5 weeks later and it's still bothering me (although not nearly as bad as it was in the beginning)

Good job Randy. Remember: We Love Hills! They are good for us, they challenge us and they are usually followed by a down hill.

Marcy....we are training towards a couple of marathons in the mid-Nov and Dec time frame....so the HM is being considered a training run for us....up to 15 this week, down to 13 next week...then back up to 17 or so the week after.....

BTW to all....I'm not sure if the hills did my legs any good or if it was the anti-oxidant that I'm drinking, but I have very little shin pain after the hill run yesterday....woohoo.

Randy, Marcy and I both belong to a baby board. It's a website for moms with babies born in 2004. We would invite you but you might stick out a bit there. :>) Unless you want to change your name to Randalina and pretend that you have a baby. The board is actually where Marcy and I met...we have known each other (virtually anyway) for four years now. That is why we rib each other like we know each other. Lori and Nikki are also on the board.

No thanks....I'll pass. Being a grandparent is as close as I want to get to those stresses for now.

Hills make you stronger, good for doing them.

I like the idea of a coach, sounds good so far. Keep us updated.

And lastly, nice marathon pics. You looked good even at the end.
