Monday Morning...Again

Well Monday is back. This is supposed to be the start of the taper for the Route 66 Marathon on November 18, but I'm running my 20 mile run this coming Saturday. The 15k Tulsa Run this past Saturday sort of threw things off a bit. I really don't mind though and I'm looking forward to just a two week taper....

Today was all run/walk...

Total Distance: 4.69 miles
Total Time: 1:07:24 (included a bathroom break for all three of us)
Pace: 14:23
Avg HR: 121 Max HR: 145

Lap 1: 14:42
Lap 2: 12:52
Lap 3: 13:15
.69 Mi: 12:44

Recovery day most definitely.

I am always confused about tapering - if it's too much or too little. But then, even when I don't taper, I wonder about the same thing: am I running too much or too little? So I just run, and try to stop worrying about it.

You have these races so back-to-back you're practically living in taper. MANIAC!!

Randy,
Yup, they're arm warmers. I got them a couple years ago at a bike shop - fleecy on the inside. I wear them every winter - often over the sleeves of a long sleeve and with my vest. I usually keep them below the elbows and pull them over my hands for extra warmth. Cool, huh?
